Postpartum Doula Services

A postpartum doula assists a new family through the adjustment period after a baby is born. The “fourth trimester” lasts until the newborn is 12 weeks old and is inevitably a time of growth and learning. Having a postpartum doula can ease the transition for the entire family and allows the mother to focus on and bond with her baby as much as possible.

I like to meet with my clients at least once before their new baby is born to get to know each other and to discuss specific needs that the family feels they will want after the birth of their baby. I begin my time as a postpartum doula when the family feels it is necessary. Typically, I help to educate families about newborns, assist with breastfeeding and new baby care, work through emotional changes that may be occurring with the new mama, and help with light household tasks or care for older siblings. My role varies greatly depending on what each family needs and inevitably changes during my time with each family as transitions occur and families become more comfortable. It is my goal to work myself out of a job. When it is time for me to leave, families will feel confident and comfortable without me.

Currently, I am not offering postpartum doula services. Please contact me and I can connect you with another local postpartum doula.
